Vouch is built by Thunder River Tech. This policy explains what the Vouch app collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Account information. When you create an account we store your email address and the display name you choose. If you sign in with Apple and use Apple's private relay, we only ever see the relay address. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication.
What you contribute. Your votes, your comments, the restaurants you save, and any reports or blocks you submit. Votes and comments are tied to your account so that each person counts once and so that you can delete what you wrote.
Subscription status. If you subscribe, Apple processes the payment. We never see your card details. We receive your subscription status through RevenueCat so the app knows what to unlock.
Diagnostics and usage. Crash reports through Firebase Crashlytics and aggregate usage events through Firebase Analytics. These tell us which screens break and which get used. They are not sold and are not used to build advertising profiles.
Device integrity. We use Firebase App Check to help confirm that requests come from a genuine copy of the app rather than a script.
We do not collect your precise location. We do not collect your contacts, photos, or microphone. We do not sell your data. We do not run ads and we do not accept payment to change any restaurant's ranking.
Vouch ranks restaurants by user votes. Every vote counts the same, regardless of whether you subscribe. That is enforced in our security rules, not just in policy.
Google, as the operator of Firebase, processes account, database, crash and analytics data on our behalf. RevenueCat processes subscription status. Apple processes payments. We do not share your data with anyone else except where the law requires it.
Your display name appears next to your comments and is visible to other users. Your individual votes are not shown to other users; only the totals are.
You can delete your account from the profile screen inside the app. Deleting removes your account, your votes, and your saved restaurants. Comments you posted are anonymized rather than removed, so that conversations other people took part in do not break.
Vouch is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
