How the ranking stays clean.

Nobody can buy a spot.

Restaurants cannot pay to be on this list, move up it, or stay on it. Free food is fine. Free rank is not.

One account, one vote.

Tied to your account, not your phone. You cannot vote twice for the same place, and a new phone does not get you another one.

Old votes fade.

A vote counts full weight today and about half as much three months later. A place that stops earning votes drifts down on its own.

It settles overnight.

Votes land right away. The order recalculates every morning, so the list holds still while you read it instead of jumping around.

Every list like this one is owned by somebody. We are not, and that is on purpose. There is nobody upstairs asking why we have not sold the top spot yet.

You cannot buy your way onto this list.

Neither can the place across the street. That is the point. A spot in a Vouch Top 10 means the people who eat in this city put you there, and nobody sold it to you.

We tag you every time we post your food. Send us a better photo and we will use it instead of ours. And tell us where you eat on your day off, because we will take a cook's pick over a review site every time.
