How the board works
Know why they're on the list.
The same rules for every restaurant and every person.
One vouch per place
One vouch per place, from an account with a confirmed email. Paid members get no extra voting power.
Newer counts more
Newer vouches count more than old ones. A vouch counts half as much after 90 days, so the list keeps up with the kitchen.
An opening order that fades
The founder's first ten get a head start that shrinks to nothing as vouches arrive.
Nothing for sale
No paid placement. Restaurants cannot pay to rise or to stay.

Know what to order.
- What to order at Corkscrew BBQ
- Ask for the fatty brisket. The peach cobbler is a must, especially if you have a sweet tooth.
- Pro tip
- There has been a line on all three of my visits, and they can sell out. Go about 30 minutes before opening.

How a place gets on the board.
Any eligible Houston restaurant can compete. Apart from the first ten's fading head start, vouches alone decide the order. No restaurant can pay for a spot, a feature or a better rank.

Help shape the list.
Insider notes come from real visits. When local knowledge helps open a city or write its notes, the people behind it are credited, and their vouch still counts the same as everyone's.

Houston is open. Your city could be next.
A city opens when 300 people sign up for it and a trusted local sets its first ten. No borrowed lists from other publishers. We also open cities through local partners, named on each city's page. Partners are never restaurants, and they never choose, rank or pay for any place on the board, including the first ten.
